I thought the headlights are just basically like human pecs/chests, but with another function. Hands can grip and feel texture, check the temp of something, etc. One function is its sexual, but also used to display dominance. Its other function is to light up and see.

Why does the MC sound like the Honest Trailers Guy!?

It is made extremely clear throughout the story that the curse surrounding her absolutely is supernaturally compelling people to violence. Her presence magically causes completely innocent people to turn into monsters. And she takes immense glee in this fact. I think if Tomie can be said to represent anything, it’s the cycle of violence itself. And that’s what’s terrifying about her. Yes, she was originally a victim, and often she is a victim again at the end of these stories, but she also purposefully and willfully and gleefully abuses and murders others. She is both a victim and a perpetrator but she is also neither. She is the very incarnate of the cycle of violence itself. And it’s completely wrong to view any of her deaths as punishment for her, because the fact is that she will always come back. Fighting violence with violence begets only more violence. She is abused, she is an abuser, she is abused again, she abuses again, and no matter what anyone does to her, she always has the last laugh, because she IS the cycle.

You took a lot of the abstract thoughts I had swirling around my head about Tomie and arranged them into a really solid and interesting video essay. Also, I love your sense of humour and your voice! In my opinion, a game that gives similar vibes to yames' games is Fear & Hunger. So many grandious and uncanny things happen in the lore and gameplay that you cannot help but feel like you are partaking in a helpless lovecraftian myth. And the soudtrack is great too!! Im finishing my Digital Games classes in uni and I definitely have both developers as great references for the horror genre. Great video btw! Subbed and looking forward for the next videos!

Ight so on the oil thing: Oil in cars is like a lubricant for the engine, no oil, lots of damage to the engine. My theory that oil is more of a hygiene thing, a car with leaky oil is a sign that the car doesn’t properly maintain themselves, maintaining clean oil with no leaks is like showering, cars that don’t do it are seen as gross.

Okay so i might have an explanation for the whole temperature thing at 25:40. While I am no expert on cars, extreme weather and climate can affect the engine and even damage it, especially in hot weather where the engine can overheat. And I do have experience with an engine stalling because of the weather being too cold to start. So using things like AC or fire to keep themselves in the optimal temperature range would be ideal. Especially in a very hot location like California where overheating might be a constant issue
